Weekly Memory Verse Week 19

The Lord will keep you from harm; He will watch over your life;
Psalms 121:7

In the season I’m in, I’m often in prayer asking where are you God? I sometimes feel alone or separated from God. I often wonder why I’m going through certain situations. This verse is a GREAT reminder that God never leaves us. He is watching over all we are going through. Good, bad, and ugly, God has it all in His hands. He sees when we cry. He sees when we rejoice. He sees us when we cry out Where Are You?

I don’t have to worry whether or not I’m alone. Scripture tells me I’m not. I don’t have to wonder if the path I’m walking is in Gods hands. Scripture promises it is. I don’t have to worry what my life may bring. My God and His Word says he will keep me from harm. He will watch over me! What a glorious promise in a time where I often feel alone and deserted. Walk in that promise today my friends. His word is true, living, and can be trusted for what it says!

Super Simple Ornament Wreath

I love those big wreaths with all the ornament balls on them. There’s just something about them that makes me smile. I decided this year to make one. I started out by grabbing out the box of solid color balls out of the attic, and grabbing a wire hanger from the closet.

I heated up the hot glue gun and got to work. First I undid the hanger and bent it into a circle. Next, I hung a bunch of balls around it through the place where normally a hook would go. I just filled it till it made a single layer around the hanger. Next I started filling in the gaps with ball and the glue gun.
Once I had my fill and thought all looked even it was done! So easy and super simple!

The Semi-Finished Product

The hanger hook actually works well to hang it with. I’m trying to decide on some sort of ribbon to make a bow to go on it to cover the hanger part but for now it still looks cute. I still have time it is only October;)

Striving for balance

Ever have those days where all you get done is a whole lot of nothing? In all seriousness, I have those days. Seems like my wheels are spinning and I’m busy busy, but yet at the end of the day, nothing was accomplished. Yes, the house got picked up before the hubs got home. Yes, dinner was on the table. Yes, we sort of completed our school work for the day, but did I do anything that really matters? Did I take time to pray with each one of my children? Did I make time for one special moment with them? Did I stop and make time for myself?

I have days where I settle in on the couch around 8 pm, look around, and wonder why I feel like I haven’t seen my kids or husband all day. It’s because I was too busy doing a whole ton of stuff that doesn’t really matter. I took a peek at pinterest for WAAAYYYY too long. I swept the floor 500 times. I did dishes to many times to count. I’m not saying those things aren’t important. They are! We wouldn’t be eating off of clean dishes if Momma didn’t wash them. I’m just saying some times we, especially I, get too caught up in doing “things” that we miss the opportunity in front of us to love, cherish, and adore the people God has placed in our lives.

I don’t want to look back on my life in say 5,10, 15, 40 years and think “why didn’t I make time for them?”. I don’t want to live with regrets. I don’t want to miss out on all that’s happening RIGHT NOW. I want to try to live as if it’s my last. Take time to smell the roses, so to speak. Do you? Do you ever feel completely out of balance? I just might be the only one but that’s ok. I’m working on it and allowing God to change from the inside out.

So, If you email me and I don’t get back to you right away, or if I don’t answer your call, know that I’m striving for balance in all things and spending time doing the things that really matter…… Living and Loving those in my life!

DIY easy harvest pumpkins

It’s not too late to make these for your fall/ thanksgiving decor!!!!!

I love to decorate for the holidays. Whether it’s for fall, christmas, easter. I love them all. I decorate the outside as well as the inside of our home. A little goes a long way. I say a post on Pinterest For a super easy pumpkin patch decoration. I didn’t follow the instructions to a T. I never do. That’s just not me. I modify and make things my own and I rarely actually measure things. I like the eye ball method. This is the finished product…..

Here’s how I made it:

4×4 posts: leftover from a fence we put up over the summer. I had 3 behind the shed.

Orange Paint: leftover from the living room walls.

Stick for stem: I cut a branch off a line of bushes that divide ours and the neighbors yards.

Twine: I did buy at the Dollar Tree but later found my stash. $1

Gold Wire: Dollar Tree, I bought two 6 ft. rolls in the flower arrangement section.

Saw: In the garage.

Piece of wood for sign: found in garage, painted with some brown paint and lettering is hand painted with black we already had.

Leaves: Dollar Tree pack of loose leaves.

Total Project cost was $4 but I have a ton of leaves and twine left to use for something else.

I started by laying the wood pieces next to each other and starting with the longest cut the other two a little shorter than the next.

I had the girls paint the pieces orange. They wanted to help and I was glad.

After two coats dried I cut the branch to make the stems, wrapped around a few times with twine, and added a curly piece of wire, and glued them on with Gorilla Glue. That stuff ROCKS by the way:)

I added the leaves at this point as well.

Next we drilled a hole in the sign piece of wood and painted it brown. When that was dry, Dexter added some detail with sparkly paint and started the lettering.

We finished the project by twisting all the “pumpkins” together with the gold wire and attaching the sign. I made a few really long curls at the ends as well.

And there you go. A few hours, mostly to let the paint dry, and you got yourselves a homemade pumpkin patch! What do you think?

Here is the rest of the decorations we have on the outside!

I can’t wait until all the mums bloom! They are going to be GORGEOUS!

I’d love for you to leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Busy Busy Bee

We’ve been busy busy busy around here. I have so much to share with you all today…… HHMMM, now where to begin???

Let’s start with Pinterest Oh my, how I love and hate you! I have found the mother load of all things food, crafty, gift making, you name it I’ve found it, on PINTEREST! I do get so much inspiration from it though. We’ve crafted a nice little wreath for my sisters new home…

Looks great by the way on her hunter green door:)

I’ve been cooking up lots of new snacks and dinners from recipes I’ve found… Like these easy granola bars

And nutella cookies I shared in welcoming the new neighbor

I’ve also been sewing! I love to sew. It’s so relaxing and peaceful to me. I made these really cute seat sacks thanks to Pinterest. Along with the gutter shelves in the school room, it really adds a ton of storage and helps keep things organized a bit. You can see the tutorial here.

I’ve made two so far out of two yards of fabric. Now to buy some more fabric and finish the other two chairs.

We took a first of the week camping trip with my mom! I love to camp! Have I told you that?

Mom and Ron are so cute together and have very few pictures together so I did a mini photo shoot for them. They will love this once I edit it a bit and print it for them. Shhh, don’t tell;)

One of the favorite parts of camping this time was we all brought our dogs. We took Ruger and they brought Stink and Tewie. Actually it’s Tink and Stewie but for some reason I never say it right. Ruger loves the water and had a blast playing with Tink and Stewie who found out what playing in the water is all about for the first time!

YES! They were a muddy, stinky mess when we were finished fishing but they had such a good time together. I just love to watch Ruger play. He’s like another kid to me.

I led the brownies and juniors in our girl scout troop too! These girls are so much fun and I love working with them. This was our first meeting of the year and the kids had a blast!

We worked on a Playing Fair badge, did a small foot print craft, then headed out doors to play games! They had a blast!

We took Wild Bill to the eye doctor for her contacts this month. Her glasses are coke bottle thick so I was more excited than her for her to get the contacts! I can see her beautiful face now, eyes and all!

She got them in and out with no problems! She was like a pro after a few tries. She learned a lot faster than Dexter did last year when she got hers. I’m just glad she has them and can go with out the glasses when she wants to.

Last but surely not least, I watched a girlfriends two nephews for her on a Saturday. Those two boys are the sweetest, well behaved little boys ever. They played with The Dude all day. I made up some sidewalk paint with cornstarch, water, and food coloring and let them go to work! It was super easy to wash off as well, and they played forever with it. Well, until it was all gone at least….

That about wraps up what we’ve been busy doing. How about you? Tackled any new projects lately? Share below in the comment section. I’d love to hear from you!

Weekly Memory Verse Week 18

The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble, He cares for those who trust in Him.

Nahum 1:7 (NIV)

AMEN! The Lord is so good. He has done such great things in my life. I could fill this blog with nothing but testimonies of the pits the good Lord has brought me out of. Not only that but He is my safe place. In Him I find rest and peace. It doesn’t mean the situations go away, it just means that I know the ONE who holds everything in his hands. Do you trust in the Lord? Do you know he cares for you? Lets memorize this verse this week and begin to show others how great our God is!

P.S. Sorry we didn’t have a verse last week. The family and I took a first of the week camping trip and it was amazing! Family first right?!?! Blessings to you this week!

Weekly Memory Verse Week 17

For we are Gods handiwork….
Ephesians 2:10

WOW, what a great word. We are Gods handiwork. God has molded us and made us, each individually, into who He wants us to be. Can you just ponder that for a moment? The God of all creation, the One who was and is and is yet to come, has made you. Just as He wants you. I know how hard it is for me to walk in that truth. I get so upset with myself over my body(5 kids later I should be happy I’m only a size 8) over my hair, my looks. My attitude sometimes doesn’t reflect Christ. I’m not walking in His handiwork. I think this scripture is a great reminder that we, those of us born again, are Christs’ child. We are exactly who He has made us. We are the way He wants us. Let’s stop wishing, thinking, and praying for something else and be thankful that we have a God that created us to His liking. Won’t you take a minute or two this week to just give God praise and glory and thanksgiving that he made you? Just tell Him how much you appreciate His work! I pray you find joy this week as you really get a hold of Gods handiwork.
