Above the Cabinet Decor

I’ve been looking for a way to add a little something to the upper cabinets. You know, that empty space between the cabinets and the ceiling. I saw a few pictures of some cabinets that had decor up there so I got busy thinking and looking around.

Bare and lonely cabinet tops!

My inspiration started with a tray that I received a few years back for a christmas gift. It was on the bottom shelf in the living room, but didn’t fit well and needed some love.

I took out the photos, and the photo insert mat, gathered some scrapbook paper, and a large M off the internet and got to work. I put it all back together and VIOLA! Instant makeover.

Now it’s more like a piece of art.

I then just filled in around it. A few things here and there. I love the finished product and it adds a ton of character to the kitchen! I love it!

I added some scrapbook paper to the clear vases to give them a pop of color. I just rolled it and stuck it in. What do you think? I think it looks pretty good. It was all stuff I had just shoved neatly in cabinets;)
